UPstart Program

Our UPstart Program works to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Franklin County and beyond. Through two components, the Entrepreneurship Accelerator and the Take the Floor pitch contest, we work with early-stage entrepreneurs to think through, plan, and execute a business strategy. Max Fripp, an educator and consultant, and a member of the Franklin County CDC board of directors, leads the program.

Register for the Entrepreneurship Accelerator, a six-month intensive course that can help people who are in the early stages of starting a business. The cohort meets bi-weekly in person and remotely throughout the program.

Register for Take the Floor pitch contests. [Registration is now closed. Please check back for our next round of Take the Floor pitch contests.] We have three rounds that lead up to the final, where three entrepreneurs will win $3,000 each to implement their idea.

Dates are January 25, 6 to 8 p.m., at GreenSpace in Greenfield,; March 28, 6 to 8 p.m., at LaunchSpace in Orange; and May 23, 6 to 8 p.m., at GreenSpace in Greenfield. The final will be held on June 27, 6 to 8 p.m., at Hawks and Reed Performing Arts Center in Greenfield.

Thank you to Franklin First, our lead sponsor.
