This free 1 1/2 hour session informs people interested in going into business or taking a hobby to the next level.  If you are interested in using the Food Processing Center, this is your first step!  Topics include:

 *Is business ownership right for you?

 *Business resources available

 *The importance of developing a business plan

 *Tour of the Food Processing Center

 *Information  about starting a food business.

Myers Briggs for Business Owners

On February 3rd, Wendy Goodman from Beyond Communication will lead a discussion on the Myers Briggs Personality Preference Type and the use of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a tool that helps improve understanding of self and others.

We will talk about the basic theory of the MBTI and how it can help you not only understand yourself better, but also improve your day to day functioning especially within relationships (including working more effectively with employees, clients and customers).

Buzz on Biz is seeking guest speakers. Do you have a business-related topic that will benefit other small business owners? Here is an opportunity to share your expertise, gain experience presenting, and network with existing business owners. This year's topics have included Strategic planning, Photography, Organizing, Managing Debt, and Computer Maintenance. If interested, explain your topic including at least three points you plan to cover, benefits to small business owners, describe what makes you an expert in this topic, list your presentation experience and include your contact information. Business Plan Training 

Plan for Success: Business Planning for New and Established Entrepreneurs

This twelve-week (36 hours) class is an opportunity for serious business owners to complete a business plan for starting and sustaining a business. Topics Include: Exploring your business idea & entrepreneurship, analyzing personal resources, developing a mission statement, legal structures, market research tools, marketing strategies, financial overview, income expense projection, cash flow projections, income expense balance sheet projections, financing alternatives, executive summary & supporting documents. Individual assistance is provided.
This class is usually offered in the Spring and Fall. The next class starts on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. The class is a $500 value; thanks to grants and donations, we are able to offer it for $250.00 (payment plan available)
